FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) are organizations that aim to encourage responsible forest management. They each have defined several principles and criteria of forest management, to which the actual forest management companies and the subsequent supply chain (Chain of Custody) must comply. Timber that meets these criteria, can be sold with the corresponding label.

The FSC label and PEFC label guarantee the customers that the wood,- and paper products purchased, are from responsibly managed and verified forests. Management of forests means, that there is a sustainable balance eye between the interests of the people (people), the interests of the environment (planet) and economic interests (profit).

The CE (Conformité Européene) marking indicates that the products conform to standards as defined by EU legislation.
